Watch The First 5 Minutes of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Season 5

I'm so ready for this next season of LHHATL! Yes I love me some ratchet TV! Watch the first five minutes of the Season 5 premiere below.

Wash Day 4-2-16

Most naturals dread wash day; I for one love it! It's like a hair restart button!
It was a very long wash day with the above 5 products I used.

I started with the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil & Hydration Shampoo. Once I rinsed I applied my favorite hair product; Roux Porosity Control Corrector and Conditioner. This product is the bomb! It restores your hair's natural PH; which makes your hair more moisturized and healthier. I noticed that it also defines my curls very nicely. I did my research and found that a lot of naturals use this product as a leave in; due to its thin consistency and because it defines natural curls so well. I left this product in for an hour; because I was cleaning and running after my son's.Next I applied the Aphogee Intensive Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor. This product gives me a weekly gentle protein treatment to combat hair damage and manipulation. To shorten the wash-day process I applied Carol's Daughter Mirabelle Plum Replenshing Conditioner also because it contains Biotin. Biotin is known to strengthen hair and promote healthy hair growth. I left this product in for 30 minutes. I ended my wash day process with the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Hydrating Conditioner. Lawd this stuff smells amazing and sinks into your hair strands. Its my favorite conditioner. I left this one on for 30 minutes and rinsed. I applied my leave in's the BBD Stretch Growth Creme Leave In Reconstructor, and the BBD Silkening Flat Iron oil;which aren't pictured here. I blow dried my hair with the wide tooth comb attachment and flat ironed my hair with my Babybliss Nano. My hair came out silky straight. However, I am not stylist so its not perfect. But I was pleased with my results. I took a photo (below) before I added curls to it.
Please share your Wash Day experience in the comments below!
Happy Growing!

My Healthy Hair Journey

After years of wearing extensions and giving up the creamy crack aka relaxer; I decided to start a healthy hair journey. I use to be a "hair salon chick". You know those chicks who are frequent hair salon goers. Until I realized that healthy hair growth doesn't come by making weekly visits to the hair salon; it happens by caring for your hair after you leave the beauty salon. I began my journey only about 2 months ago. Unfortunately, I didn't take photos of my beginning hair length; due to my busy life. However, I did take recent photos, which showcase about 3 inches of new healthy hair growth.
My short term goal is to reach bra strap length and my long term goal is to reach waist length.
I followed a serious hair regimen; that is very timely and sometimes costly. However, I realize now that the key to black hair is moisture. Below is my hair care regimen including products that I use.

My Hair Regimen 💇
I wash my hair once a week
I wear protective styles during the week, buns, ponytails, twist outs, braid-outs, Bantu knot outs

Pre-poo: I pre-poo before every wash with a mixture of coconut oil (melted & cooled), olive oil, & a cheapie conditioner like Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner- I leave this on for 15 to 30 mins
~I do this to prepare my hair for the manipulation of the wash day process
~I don't do this if I am at a lost for time

Shampoo: I barely shampoo my hair due to the stripping of oil throughout the hair that shampoo causes. I only shampoo my hair when I'm going to straighten my hair.
I use the Tresemme Smooth & Silky Shampoo or if my hair is in need of moisture I shampoo my hair with Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Shampoo. I usually rinse out some of the pre-poo mixture and add the Tresemme Smooth & Silky Shampoo or the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Shampoo.

Conditioner: Next I use the Roux Porosity Control- this product is my absolute favorite. It restores the PH balance in my hair and helps my hair to absorb water and moisture better.
~ I leave this product on for 15 to 30 mins

Protein Treatment: I do a light protein treatment weekly to restore my hair's health and to prevent damaged hair. I use Aphogee's 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor. This product is gentle enough to use for my weekly washes. If you use a lot of heat on your hair, then a protein treatment is a must for your weekly washes. My hair feels strong after using this product.
~I leave on for 15 to 30 mins

Deep Conditioner: I do a deep conditioning treatment every week to increase the moisture balance in my hair. I use the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Masque.
This deep conditioning treatment is the bomb! Your hair will be completely moisturized and smell amazing.
~I leave this product on for 30 mins to an hour

Leave In Conditioner: Since I love to flat iron my hair I use BBD Stretch Growth Creme and either let my hair dry or blow my hair out with it. If I am flat ironing my hair I use a combination of the BBD Stretch Growth Creme and the BBD Hair Silkening lotion. Both products are the bomb.com! The Stretch Growth Creme will moisturize your hair and completely stop shedding. It is a leave in Reconstructor. It contains tons of Amino Acids and Protein!
~I part my hair in four sections and use a pea sized amount of both products in each section.
~I only use the Silkening lotion when I am flat ironing.

Daily Moisturizer: I moisturize my hair daily with the BBD Stretch Growth Creme and seal the moisturizer with One n Only Argan Oil.
~I part my hair in four sections and apply a pea sized amount of BBD Stretch first in each section and then I apply the One n Only Argan Oil on top of the BBD Stretch Growth Creme.

Please feel free to comment with questions I'd be happy to help you. I will make a later post on where to find these products.

Glam Cheapie Beauty Faves

So many of my friends are hooked on Mac Cosmetics; and yes Mac is a great product line; however not everyone can afford their products. I've actually stopped using their foundation, blot powder, concealer, and lately their lipsticks because I've found other products that are less expensive however the quality is amazing. Below is a list of my favorite cheapie beauty products I can't live without.

Rimmel's Stay Matte Primer is my go to Face Primer. This primer is to be worn underneath your foundation and concealer. It keeps your face shine proof for over 5 hours. I blot my face only once a day when using this product. This product is only $6.99 and can be found a CVS or Ulta.

The Ben Nye Topaz Powder is the black woman's holy grail of Translucent Powder! OMG I can't live without it! One container last me forever. It sets your foundation so beautifully and has slight shimmer to it that looks amazing on our brown skin tones. Also, their banana powder is great for contouring! All the celebrity makeup artist use the banana powder to set their contour; search it on you tube. This powder sells for $7.00, however it is not available in stores and can only be ordered online at Camera Ready Cosmetics http://camerareadycosmetics.com/products/ben-nye-classic-translucent-face-powder.html

Amazing Lash Studio Review

Hi Glam Goddesses! I recently jumped on the eyelash extension bandwagon and decided to use Amazing Lash Studio as my lash go to spot.I switched from my cheapie beauty supply lashes because their too time consuming. With lash extensions your full set application is done once and you follow up with lash refills every two to three weeks.

Amazing Lash Studio has four different eye lash types:

Natural- Your lashes just longer fuller but natural looking
Gorgeous- Red Carpet Ready lashes; longer fuller lashes all over
Cute- Lashes for ladies with smaller eyes to accentuate shape of the eyes
Sexy- Longer lashes in the outer corner of your eyes

I decided to get the natural lashes, which I researched before I went to the appointment.
I arrived to the lash studio the suggested 10 minutes early because I was a new client; to fill out paperwork. Then I was greeted by lash stylist Camila.

The application was painless. There was a lot of tape used on my eye; however it wasn't uncomfortable. Each eye took about 30 minutes to apply lashes.

The End Result

I love my lashes they look very natural!
My full set application was priced at $100.00 only because I used a master lash stylist.

If you choose to not use a master eyelash stylist your full set of lashes will be priced at $79.99.
Because I am happy with my lash extensions I decided to start a membership with Amazing Lash Studio for $45.99 a month that covers my refill for any lashes. Next time I'm definitely going to try the Gorgeous lashes for a more dramatic effect though. Overall I recommend The Amazing Lash Studio. They are very professional and much less expensive then other lash studios in Houston.
I went to the Westheimer and Gessner location; if your there request Camila as your lash stylist she's great!

The Liquid Lipsticks Every Black Girl Needs

My new obsession are liquid lipsticks. I haven’t worn any of my Mac lipsticks since I’ve tried liquid lipsticks. The reason I love them so much is because they literally only take one application a day.
Yes, that’s right one!
The color is more bold and vivid!

What I suggest is to google each brand name and color name, go to images; so you can see what each color looks like.
Below are my list of must have liquid lipsticks that work for all women of color.
